“念一百万阿弥陀佛名号就能往生极乐”
Chanting the Name of Amitabha a Million Times, One Can Be Reborn in Sukhavati
大家方便的时候，最好回顾一下自己的人生：“我造过多少恶业？吃过多少苦头？”
Ideally, you should review your life from time to time, asking, “How many unwholesome actions have I committed? How much hardship have I endured?”
其实，只要稍加观察，就会发现痛苦从未远离过自己。
As soon as you inquire a little, you will realize that suffering has never been far from you.
所以，若想不再受这些难忍之苦，我们务必要精进修行。
So if you wish to no longer experience such unbearable suffering, you must practice diligently.
修行佛法，实际上并不像有人认为的那样高不可攀。
Practicing the Buddhadharma is actually not as unattainable as some believe.
譬如说，最下等的人也能往生极乐世界，这就比较简单吧！
For example, even the most humble person can be reborn in Sukhavati. This is quite simple, right?
只要对阿弥陀佛有坚定的信心，一心一意发愿往生，
As long as we have strong confidence in Buddha Amitabha, aspire from the core of our being to be reborn in his pure realm,
然后依教奉行，不造五无间罪和舍法罪，
follow the instructions of the teachings, and never commit the five crimes with immediate retribution or the harmful act of rejecting the Dharma,
那么定会如释迦牟尼佛和阿弥陀佛亲口承诺的：我们命终后一定能往生极乐世界。
then it will be as Shakyamuni Buddha and Buddha Amitabha promised: after death, we definitely can be reborn in the blissful realm.
以前有一个喇嘛对外宣称：“色达堪布（指法王如意宝本人）说念一百万遍阿弥陀佛名号就能往生极乐世界，
There was a lama who declared publicly, “Khenpo Serthar [His Holiness Jigme Phuntsok himself] said chanting the name of Amitabha one million times enables one to be reborn in the realm of Sukhavati.
这完全是妄语，往生极乐世界岂会如此容易！”
This is a complete lie. How could it be so easy to be reborn there?”
此人可能不太熟悉教理。
Perhaps this person was not very familiar with the teachings.
我所说的，实际上是以《阿弥陀经》为依据，并非从分别念中杜撰出来的。
What I said was in fact in accordance with the Amitabha Sutra, not a fabrication of the discriminating mind.
所谓“一百万遍名号”的界限，是我的根本上师托嘎如意宝、观音上师、多额单比尼玛活佛等曾明确授记：
The instruction on chanting the name one million times was unequivocally taught by my root teacher Thupga Rinpoche, His Holiness the Fourteenth Dalai Lama, and Tulku Dongak Tenpe Nyima:
“将来你若让有缘人念一百万遍阿弥陀佛名号
“In the future, if you lead those with the necessary karma and good fortune to chant one million times the name of Buddha Amitabha
（此处是指藏语佛号，汉语‘南无阿弥陀佛’则需六百万遍），
(here it refers to the name of Buddha Amitabha in Tibetan; the Chinese “Namo Amitabha” needs to be chanted six million times),
他们就能往生极乐世界。”
they will be able to attain rebirth in Sukhavati.”
我个人的品行再怎样卑劣，也不会拿这个来欺诳世人。
No matter how despicable my own character, I would never use this teaching to deceive the world.
所以，有佛陀与上师的教言为证，希望大家好好发愿念佛，
Thus, with the words of the Buddha and my teachers as testimony, I wish for everyone to sincerely aspire to chant the name of Amitabha,
毫不犹豫地选择对今生来世最有利的事，珍惜当下的每一刹那！
to choose without the least hesitation what is of the most benefit to our present and future lives, and to treasure each present moment!
